Hans & Grietje Pancake House and Play Park is an oasis of conviviality. We are located on the edge of an enchanting forest, where the trees whisper and the fairies dance in the moonlight. This is our story.

Once upon a time…

The fairytale for cow farmers Hans and Griet (yes, that’s the real name of the owners) became reality. They started a small Hansel & Gretel house with ten places on the edge of the forest. Fun fact: the Breadcrumb Route still starts here. In the house, Hans and Griet sold ice cream made from their own cow’s milk, and soon Grandma’s apple pie arrived. Due to the increasing crowds, the pancakes also appeared.

Over time, not only the number of visitors grew, but also the size of the restaurant. Soon the pancake house was moved to its current location and underwent an impressive transformation, with the addition of a play park for the youngest among us. However, a major tragedy struck us in July 2015, when a devastating fire engulfed the beloved restaurant. But like any fairy tale, Hansel and Gretel did not give up…

And they lived happily ever after

Construction of the current building started in 2016, a majestic pancake restaurant that excels in both design and atmosphere. It is not without reason that our guests call Hans & Grietje “the most magical pancake house in the Netherlands”. By focusing on experience, not just on food, we have created a place where you really feel like you are in a fairy tale. There is a world of discovery for the children in and around the restaurant, while parents can enjoy a carefree day out. When can we welcome you?
